The National Council of Senior Citizens works to improve the xxxs of the elderly and people of all ages. It is one of the leading activist voices for older Americans and is one of the largest organizations today representing senior citizens and their families.

NCSC was created in 1961 to spearhead the charge to enact a health care program for senior citizens -- Medicare. Since then, we have battled on behalf of America's elderly who depend on Medicare for health care and Social Security checks for monthly income. In the 1990s, NCSC continues to lead the fight to protect Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security and also provides housing, volunteer work, social opportunities, and jobs for the low-income elderly.

The strength of the National Council of Senior Citizens is due in large part to its members and supporters -- millions of senior citizens in
more than 2,000 affiliated clubs and councils across the United States who speak with a unified voice through NCSC. This network form method="GET" action="2%"> the backbone of the "Senior Power" movement in the United States today.
